Petersburg Citizens for Government Reform

For the past 60 years the city of Petersburg has been in a downward skid toward ineffectiveness and obsolescence. Because of recent events, nationally and locally, an increasing number of intelligent and capable citizens have converged through town meetings and other events to form an informal but ambitious group with the determination to turn things around. This blog has been created to provide a vehicle for taking the next step toward solidifying into a formal organization with strong foundation and identifiable goals.

If you have been invited here then you have been recognized by your host as a vital asset to our community. Please accept our welcome and feel free to contribute your thoughts, ideas, rants or anything else you may feel is important.

I think it is more than obvious at this point that our city government is either unwilling or incapable of reversing the course of our city's demise. It is equally obvious that within the numerous groups and individuals I've met and encountered at the various city meetings during first few months of 2009, there are valuable resources of energy and ability that can make needed changes. Hopefully we will find the focus and organization required to succeed.
